Planai & Hochwurzen – A Whole Load of Action in Schladming
20.12.2016

There is quite a lot going on in the Ennstal area these days! The Funslope Planai and the Funslope Hochwurzen have certainly been among the highlights for all the winter sports enthusiasts who have visited the region in the past seasons. Winter 2016/17 offers an action-laden addition - last weekend the Funcross Planai officially opened its doors - with its more advanced course, it is the perfect terrain for sportive riders, especially those who are looking for a healthy amount of speed.

Once again, the Funslope Planai is going to offer plenty of fun hours to the guests of Upper Styria’s top ski destination this season. The 850-meter long course leads over various jumps, waves and through steep curves and, what’s more, the friendly Funslope dweller Slopy is always eagerly awaiting to “high five” the visitors. Besides, from this season onwards and as soon as the upper part of the Funslope is finished, there is a new element to be discovered as well. The “Eight” invites the skiers and snowboarders to follow an exciting curve combination in the shape of the number 8. By the way, this innovative element was developed in the course of the idea competition of the last Funslope Innovation Days.

Funcross Planai: A New Highlight for Sportive Skiers and Snowboarders

Since the beginning of this season the Funslope Planai has a speedier brother – the brand-new Funcross Planai! The course, which was developed with a ski/snowboard cross in mind, will certainly draw the attention of all the sportive skiers and snowboarders. Here they get the chance to prove their skills on numerous steep curves and jumps. In contrast to the more family-friendly Funslope, the course is more advanced, that’s why you can reach higher speed, which will definitely please the ambitioned winter sports enthusiasts who are looking for an action-packed adventure. What really makes it stand out is that at Planai the Funslope and the Funcross virtually merge together thanks to two connected tunnels. Along with the Superpark Planai, which has been a hit with the freestyle scene for years, an entire “Fun Mountain” has emerged, where winter sports enthusiasts of all skill levels will find an exciting alternative to the common slopes.

The official opening of the Funcross took place last Friday, when the skiers and snowboarders got their first chance to test the park in terms of fun and speed – cool music, presentation and free snacks included. For an extra dose of motivation everybody was invited to take part in a competition in order two win 3 helmets by TSG. Plus, ski bunny Hopsi was present as well, leading the visitors through the course. The huge crowd once again proved that a visit to a Funslope or a Funcross is an essential ingredient for a perfect day of skiing fun!

Coming soon: the Funslope Hochwurzen will open as Soon as Possible

If you have already been to the ski region Planai & Hochwurzen, you will certainly come across the Funslope Hochwurzen as soon as snow conditions are just right. This year it will enter its 5th season already and as soon as it has been built, the Funslope in Rohrmoos near Schladming will offer a little highlight right at the start in the form of the speed boost with its cool sound effects. There are also various boxes waiting for the visitors - the ideal conditions especially for young winter sports enthusiasts to improve their skills in a playful way and to spend an exciting day in the mountains.
