Winter FUN and Carnival Extravaganza at the Funslope Hintertux!
30.01.2017

Since mid-December 2016, the guests at the Hintertux Glacier have had a great time at the brand-new Funslope Hintertux, located 2100m above sea level in the ski region Sommerbergalm. With its numerous different sections, this diverse and fun course will put a smile on the faces of all who go through. When being lifted up the mountain via the 4-seated Tuxerjoch chair, you can already catch a first glimpse of the Funslope. Truly unique and captivating fun features, such as the “Eight”, the giant Fun Twister, the funny bridge, and of course the friendly Funslope dweller Slopy are waiting to be discovered by the young and also the young at heart. Besides, at the end of February it’s your turn to always wear your broadest smile when riding through the Funslope Hintertux – because that might make you win great prizes!

“The Eight is a brand-new and totally unique Funslope element and, therefore, a special highlight. The combination with the Fun Twister, which also provides hours and hours of riding fun, is a real eye-catcher and the bridge is another awesome element as well,” Roland Winkler, technical construction manager at the Funslope Hintertux, says. When being interviewed he can’t really settle for his favorite obstacle, he likes them all, really. Apart from the already mentioned elements, various waves, a high five element and a speedboost are waiting for all the skiers and snowboarders. Speedboost? One might remember something like this from the Mario Kart video game from the 90’s – it’s some sort of acceleration lane, which also produces cool sounds when you ride over it. And what is Slopy up to? If you high five him you’ll be rewarded with a “Gimme Five!”.

And since we are talking about a reward – Thanks to the unique panoramic view of the Hintertux Glacier you are in for another special treat; “The view is just amazing, you can overlook the entire Tuxertal – it’s just stunning,” it’s hard to interrupt Roland Winkler when he is talking with such enthusiasm. His enthusiasm also doesn’t stop when it comes to the cuisine. “The food at the barrier-free Panorama Restaurant is just excellent, especially the salad buffet and the diverse daily specials!”

Here we would like to show you a Vimeo video.

Or maybe you prefer having a Krapfen, a pastry similar to a doughnut, which is traditionally served around carnival season. On Shrove Tuesday an even bigger dose of fun is waiting at the Funslope Hintertux. In the course of the Funslope Photo Quest on February 28 2017 it is your turn to flirt with the camera, no matter if you’re wearing a costume or not. A professional photographer will be taking pictures of all the guests – if you tag yourself on Facebook afterwards, you get the chance to win a helmet by TSG in the course of the voting. Plus, a cash prize of 1.000€ is waiting for you in the finals. But actually, everybody is a winner here, while riding, smiling, being amazed and, what’s most important, having loads of fun!
